The Road Less Traveled: Alternative Paths for Educators

Panel Presentation Sponsored by the Office of Career Services and the Center for Careers in Teaching

    • Date: Monday, March 31st, 2008
    • Time: 12:30 -1:45 pm
    • Room: HH 111 (Bedford Campus)
    • No advance registration or fee required

Are you wondering where a degree in education may take you? Are you willing to think outside the box? Have you ever considered teaching abroad? Is a charter school or private school a realistic option for you?

Our panelists have taken the "road less traveled" securing teaching assignments outside the traditional classroom in charter schools, private schools, non profit agencies and tutoring services. They will discuss their unique career paths, their choices, the education they needed, the obstacles they have overcome and the satisfactions they have enjoyed in working in these alternative environments. Their presentations will be followed by the opportunity for questions. Come listen to those who have gone before you, ask them how they got where they are today, and consider YOUR future.
