Program Description
 
Students are taught to use this very popular accounting software. No knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting or finances is required, but students should be comfortable with personal computers and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows; know how to open and close task windows, use drop down lists, move files around, create folders, copy files to and from disks, and run applications. QuickBooks functions to be presented include: company setup; reconcile checking account; billing and receiving payments from customers; recording and paying vendor invoices; creating reports and graphs; inventory control; tracking and paying sales taxes; understanding payroll; creating job estimates and time tracking; and using Microsoft Excel and Word for report analysis and letter writing. Program Details
 
The course is divided into 15 lessons, and combines lectures with hands-on student participation. Each lesson begins with a list of student objectives and most lessons include one or more handouts that summarize or illustrate the main points. This course is conducted in a computer lab is used with one computer per student.
Each lesson contains special notes that help to present the material. These notes are printed in italics and appear at key places throughout the lesson text. A brief student test and review section follows each lesson.
