Society of Human Resources Management: The SHRM Learning System®

SHRM® Learning System: (Certification Prep Program)

This intensive 10-week SHRM Learning System® course is designed to provide individuals with an overview of key areas in human resource management. Materials include six modules that correspond to the six functional areas, responsibilities, and associated knowledge as defined by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). The program is offered in cooperation with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as study material for the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification examinations administered by HRCI. Course is not eligible for waivers or vouchers. Tuition of $1250 includes all SHRM study materials. SHRM or NEHRA members receive a $50 tuition discount.

Note: The minimum eligibility requirement to sit for the PHR® or SPHR®exam are:
2 years + of exempt-level, professional HR experience for either the PHR® or SPHR® exam.
It is recommended that students have 2-4 years exempt-level experience for the PHR® and 6-8 years for the SPHR®.
This program is the only program where participant certification exam pass rates consistently exceed the national exam pass rate.

This course of study does not guarantee success on the HRCI exam. While no single course of study guarantees success on the HRCI examinations, thousands of individuals have used the SHRM Learning System® to study for the exams. HR topics covered: Strategic Management; Workforce Planning and Employment; HR Development; Total Rewards; Employee and Labor Relations; Risk Management.

Instructor: Lorrie M. Ferraro, PHR, CCP. Lorrie is Vice-President of Human Resources at PAREXEL International where she is the strategic leader responsible for the identification, development and implementation of global human resource strategies. Prior to joining PAREXEL she held the position of Global HR Director at NetGenesis, Axis Communications and Applied Science and Technology. She has taught PHR/SPHR Prep courses since 1999. Lorrie hold a B.S. in International Business, graduating Magna Cum laude.

CEU's: In cooperation with SHRM, Middlesex Community College awards 3.5 CEU's and a certificate upon successful completion of the program.
