Society of Human Resources Management:  SHRM® Essentials of Human Resource Management

This fifteen hour introductory course offers a solid, comprehensive overview of human resource roles and responsibilities.  We will provide participants with critical knowledge to help reduce potentially costly lawsuits and improve the ability to handle challenging HR issues. This course is ideal for those who are just starting out in the HR profession, small business owners, or those who are looking for an effective way to improve their employee management skills.  Course is not eligible for waivers or vouchers. 

HR Topics Covered:  HR Management, Employment Law, Recruitment and Selection; Compensation and Benefits, Employee Development and Performance Management.

CEU's:  In cooperation with SHRM, Middlesex Community College will award 1.5 CEU's and a certificate upon successful completion.

Instructor:  Patricia Morrow, MSM, SPHR. Pat is on the full-time faculty at Northern Essex Community College and is Chair of the Department of Business Administration.  Her human resources experience was gained through work in various industries including construction, healthcare, retail, and education working as an HR Generalist.  Pat holds a Masters in Management from Lesley University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.  She has been teaching Human Resources Management at the college level for nearly a decade and has been Senior Professional in Human Resources certified since 2002 and continues her ongoing professional development.

Tuition:  $550 which includes all SHRM materials.  Please indicate if you are a SHRM or NEHRA member for a $50 tuition discount.

Refund Policy: 

• 5 or more business days prior to start of course 100% tuition refund
• Less than 5 business days prior to start of the course and before first class meeting: 50% tuition refund.
