Admission to the College
Middlesex is a public college with an open admission policy. SAT scores are not required (although there are some prerequisite requirements to enter some programs). In general, applicants are expected to have a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Students who graduated from high school in 2003 or later from a Massachusetts public high school are also required to meet MCAS requirements. In some cases, knowledge based on life experience as demonstrated through ability to benefit testing may be an adequate basis for acceptance. Admission to some programs is competitive, due to a limited number of openings.
Health and most Technology programs begin only in the fall semester, with the exception of the Nursing program which begins in the spring as well. These programs also have special admission requirements which are described below. Most other programs admit new students in January as well as September.
