Admission Requirements

Admission to the College

Middlesex is a public college with an open admission policy. SAT scores are not required (although there are some prerequisite requirements to enter some programs). In general, applicants are expected to have a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Students who graduated from high school in 2003 or later from a Massachusetts public high school are also required to meet MCAS requirements.  In some cases, knowledge based on life experience as demonstrated through ability to benefit testing may be an adequate basis for acceptance. Admission to some programs is competitive, due to a limited number of openings.

Health and most Technology programs begin only in the fall semester, with the exception of the Nursing program which begins in the spring as well. These programs also have special admission requirements which are described below. Other programs admit new students in January as well as September.

Prospective students are encouraged to contact the Academic Planning Centers to make an appointment with an Academic Counselor to explore program options, determine potential transfer credit awards, or learn more about MCC.  Appointments can be scheduled by calling 1-800-818-3434.   We also welcome your visit and invite you to take tours of the campus. Tours are available on a regular basis, click on the link for the most current tour schedule.

If you are interested in applying to a degree or certificate program, you can apply online.  If you are not interested in a degree or certificate program, but would like to register for courses, please click here. Or, if you prefer, call 1-800-818-3434 to request a semester schedule of classes.
